Day to Day Safari

Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Mombasa at 6:30 AM. You will drive to Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma Gate.
Enjoy a game drive en route, spotting wildlife as you head toward your lodge for lunch and check-in.
In the afternoon, head out for another exciting game drive. Tsavo East is famous for:

  • Large herds of red elephants
  • Open plains and acacia woodland
  • Popular sites such as Mudanda Rock and Aruba Dam
  • Wildlife including lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes
  • Over 500 bird species

Day 2: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

Start your day with an early morning game drive followed by breakfast.
After breakfast, proceed with a game drive en route to Tsavo West National Park.
Arrive at your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive including a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary.

Highlights of Tsavo West include:

  • Diverse landscapes: forests, hills, lava flows, and rivers
  • Shetani Lava Flow and Chaimu Crater
  • Wildlife such as rhinos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and giraffes
  • Over 600 bird species
  • Views of Mount Kilimanjaro

The park is also historically known for the “Man-Eaters of Tsavo,” made famous in the film The Ghost and the Darkness.

Day 3: Tsavo West to Mombasa

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive.
Visit Mzima Springs, one of the park’s most famous attractions. Here you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and fish in crystal-clear natural spring water through an underwater viewing chamber.
Continue with a game drive en route to lunch at Zomeni Lion Hill Lodge.
After lunch, depart for Mombasa, arriving at your hotel in the early evening.
